NAVI’s trial roster is pushing hard through the elimination rounds at OGA Dota PIT Online Season 3 by taking out of the competition the double TI champions, OG.
Having to attend the event with their coach Titouan “Sockshka” Merloz standing in for the fresh dad Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen, OG have pushed their unconventional drafts to the limit over the past few days and kept surprising their opponents with strange picks, to say the least. Their mid lane Oracle played by Johan “N0tail” Sundstein caught off guard both Alliance and 5men, but when it was brought to the table for the third time, NAVI had the answer for it.
Nonetheless, the elimination series from today started with a Zeus play from OG’s captain, who fell behind Bogdan “Iceberg” Vasilenko’s Ember Spirit pretty fast and that translated into a disastrous game for OG. They had a carry Phantom Lancer that got hunted down continuously by Iceberg and thus the game spiraled down to an unrecoverable status for OG, who had to admit defeat after being led in both gold and experience throughout the entire game.
OG bounced back in game two on the back of Sébastien “Ceb” Debs’ spotless performance on Centaur Warrunner, who carried the game to force NAVI to a decisive match. However, with the backs against the wall, OG summoned N0tail’s Oracle once again, but they picked it first in the draft phase and NAVI were given the chance to counter it in a lot of aspects. Not only that Doom was left in the pool, but NAVI have also itemized and prioritized the fights around cancelling the potential saves from Oracle to prevail in the end and take the series 2-1.
Day 3 at OGA Dota PIT is far from being over, with two more series on the schedule. First to enter the battle are Team Secret and Alliance, who will fight against each other for a pot into the grand finals, followed by a CIS showdown, NAVI versus VP.Prodigy with elimination on the line.
