With just three days before the first season of Regional Leagues, four teams have been already disqualified from the competition for various reasons. VISdota were booted from Southeast Asia closed qualifiers counting for a spot in the region’s Upper Division due to using a permanently banned player. Also in SEA, but in the Lower Division, Assault got disqualified due to account sharing. Their spot in the Lower Division was granted to Army Geniuses, who fell short in the second closed qualifier stage.

In the North America League, VirtusProPolar, who will now fight for a spot in the Lower Division, have already been disqualified from the closed qualifiers counting for Upper Division due to using an unauthorized stand-in. The NA closed qualifiers started with a team put together by Jimmy “DeMoN” Ho, however, after they reached the qualifier finals they were forced to find a replacement for their captain as DeMoN got banned due to misconduct at previous Dota 2 tournaments. After replacing DeMoN and claiming a spot in the NA Upper Division, the stack was renamed from Aristotle to A-Team.
