The Dota 2 Asia Championship regional qualifiers are quickly coming to an end, with only the CIS region left to be decided – both OG and paiN Gaming have claimed their spot in the tournament.
The Europe regional qualifiers grand final for DAC 2018 saw OG going up against The Final Tribe. OG, still trying to get back into form and claim some much needed Dota 2 Pro Circuit Points, had a perfect run to the grand finals – with 2-0 series all the way through, including a 18 minute stomp of Jonathan ‘Loda’ Berg’s newest Alliance line-up. The grand finals saw OG going up against the Swedish squad, The Final Tribe – who are made up of ex-Alliance players. The Swedish squad went down to OG in the semi-finals of the upper bracket and had a chance to get some revenge.
Game one saw The Final Tribe take OG’s favoured Tiny pick away from them, in an attempt to use it against them in the same manner as it was used against them in the semi-finals. Unfortunately they did not expect the Roman ‘Resolut1on’ Fominok Gyrocopter going 19-0-12 with a massive 854 GPM and XPM at game end.
Game two saw OG continue their dominance, even though Resolut1ion’s Gyrocopter was not as much of a presence, the European team rallied as they used to and pulled out another 2-0 victory in the qualifiers. This secured OG the Europe qualifier spot for DAC 2018 and a chance to grab some Dota 2 Pro Circuit Points.

The South American regional qualifier for DAC 2018 pitted SG-esports against paiN Gaming in an all Brazilian grand final. The 2 teams met in the winner’s bracket finals a day before, which saw SG take a hard-fought 2-1 victory, leaving paiN in the loser’s bracket final. paiN managed to overcome Infamous once more and secure a shot at revenge on their Brazilian counterparts. And revenge they got as paiN managed to 2-0 their opponents – with an easy game one followed by a much harder fought second game of the series.
paiN Gaming thus claimed the South American qualifier spot for the Dota 2 Asia Championships.
