After announcing his retirement from Dota 2 just last week, Pan ‘Fade’ Yi has already turned back on that idea as he has reportedly joined Team Aster.

While Vici Gaming performed admirably at The International 2019, shortly after the event Fade announced that he would be retiring from Dota 2. Alongside this we also learned that Zhang ‘Paparazi’ Chengjun would be departing from the squad to join EHOME. But, as retirements go, Fade’s was as short-lived as any, as sources have informed us that he has joined Team Aster, the squad coached by seasoned Dota 2 veteran Xu ‘BurNIng’ Zhilei. Recently we learned that Song ‘Sccc’ Chun had joined the Aster squad and now it seems that they have another new addition.

Having formed in late 2018, Team Aster never really got off-the-mark and would make countless roster changes as they attempted to fight their way through the Dota 2 Pro Circuit season. Many famed players would pass through their ranks such as Chai ‘Mushi’ Yee Fung, Liu ‘Sylar’ Jiajun and Lu ‘Fenrir’ Chao but none could help the squad reach a high-point of TI9. Now it seems as though a rebuild is occurring and preparing for the next DPC season as Fade joins the roster.

On his stream BurNIng spoke about changes to the squad stating the following;

“Inside news? Big news? I can’t you guys the big ones yet. ASD would be nice but LGD asked for a price that is just too high for us to accept. We are still looking for a position 5, it’s going to be huge if we get the player we really want.”

Li ‘ASD’ Zhiwen is currently part of Team Sirius but according to what was said by BurNIng on stream, the player is up for grabs with the likes of VG trying to obtain him to fill the holes now prevalent in their roster.

While Fade’s move to Aster has yet to be confirmed, our sources have informed us that he was planning on re-signing with VG before a swap was made but decided against it due to the previous drama. We will keep you up to date on all followup stories relating to this matter as well as any and all post TI9 roster shuffle information.
