Last year saw a huge increase in players reaching the 11,000 Matchmaking Rating milestone in Dota 2 and 2021 has added another amazing player to the list with Rafli Fathur “Mikoto” Rahman acquiring this achievement yesterday.
Although they lost one of their most famed players, Randy towards the end of 2020, “Dreamocel” Sapoetra, the year was still one of the best seen from BOOM Esports. The team saw a host top tier finishes in the plethora of regional events and quickly became one of the top teams in Southeast Asia – which also secured them a direct invite into the upper division of the currently ongoing Dota Pro Circuit League. Playing a huge part in this success is the mid-lane player, Rafli Fathur “Mikoto” Rahman, who has been with the Indonesian roster for over two years now and just reached an amazing milestone.
Yesterday, via his personal Instagram account, Mikoto announced that he had reached the 11K MMR mark in Dota 2 – which BOOM confirmed with posts on both their Facebook and Twitter accounts. Mikoto becomes the first player from Indonesia to attain this amazing goal, joining an ever-growing number of professional players at the top of the rankings. With many teams and players hard at work in the DPC League, it is great to see that Mikoto has still found time to increase his personal MMR to such heights.
BOOM Esports are currently in fourth place in the SEA DPC League, having won one series and lost one so far – with two gigantic series facing the squad in week 3 of the event. It will be great to see if Mikoto can use his new achievement to cause some problems for both Fnatic and T1 on February 3rd and 4th, respectively.
