How was the first gaming day at RMR A EU

Tonight, the first two rounds of the EU RMR (Group A) have concluded, where teams are giving their all to secure a spot in the first-ever CS2 Major. As anticipated, there have been some surprises, but for the most part, the favorites are living up to their reputation.

Now, let’s take a look at how each team fared in their matches.

The group’s favorites are serious about RMR

Four teams have emerged as leaders in this race, and it would have been surprising if these teams hadn’t ended up at the top of the table. Let’s start with Natus Vincere, who, like the others, have a perfect record of two wins out of two matches played.

Their opening match was against the team KOI. The Spaniards didn’t look too overwhelmed in this encounter, but they couldn’t handle the Ukrainian giants. The game ended with a score of 13-8 in favor of Na’Vi, and the bo1 match took place on the map Ancient.

Their final encounter took place on the Mirage map, with the Ukrainians facing the newcomers from Poland, ENTERPRISE esports. In the second round, things were much easier for Blad3’s team, as his players claimed the map with a score of 13-6.

This victory became the second in a row for Natus Vincere, and today they will play in a BO3 format. But the match itself promises to be very intense, as they will be facing Virtus.pro, who achieved the same result as Na’Vi.

Speaking of bears, the team indeed had a good start, and to be honest, their opponents were more serious than Na’Vi’s. The Russian team defeated the well-known Portuguese team SAW and then simply dominated Fnatic.

No other teams are chasing the aforementioned teams, but FaZe Clan and G2 themselves. Starting with Finn Andersen’s (karrigan) team, in their first match at RMR, they comfortably defeated 9Pandas. The game took place on the Mirage map and ended with a score of 13-6. The team led by seized couldn’t find the keys to such a CS scene grandmaster and rightfully went to the 0-1 bracket.

Then FaZe faced a much more serious “exam,” as they were rumored to be up against the richest organization in these qualifiers. Of course, we’re talking about the Falcons team. No matter what super project the sheikhs build, there is one good metric, and that’s the results. The guys couldn’t come up with anything in this match, and instead of a confident 2-0, they fell into the 1-1 bracket. Meanwhile, FaZe once again confirmed their strength and without any doubt, they will be one of the main contenders for this trophy.

  • Falcons 7-13 FaZe Clan

G2 Esports left no chances for Into The Breach in the opening match of the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024: European RMR A. The teams’ encounter on the Anubis map ended in a crushing 13-3 victory.

Next, G2 Esports faced a tough opponent in the form of the Turkish team Eternal Fire. The game turned out to be truly intense, and both teams had to play overtimes on the Nuke map. It was perhaps one of those matches of the game day that you would even want to watch in a recording. For Nikola “NiKo” Kovač’s team, this was also their second victory in the tournament. And now, we can all expect an incredible showdown between FaZe Clan and G2, where both teams have something to prove to each other and perhaps even seek revenge.

Other results of the day

  1. Ninjas in Pyjamas 11 – 13 Eternal Fire
  2. Amkal 9 – 13 Enterprise
  3. Falcons 13 – 8 3Dmax
  4. Fnatic 13 – 6 BetBoom Team
  5. Amkal 22 – 20 Ninjas in Pyjamas
  6. 9Pandas 13 – 1 SAW
  7. Into The Breach 1 – 13 BetBoom Team
  8. Koi 13 – 8 3Dmax

Four teams didn’t perform well at all. First and foremost, it’s worth mentioning the team Ninjas in Pyjamas. The Swedes had a disappointing start to the day and were eliminated first by the Turkish team Eternal Fire. However, they then had an intense battle with Amkal Esports, playing a whopping 42 rounds, and the match ended with a score of 22-20 in favor of the “cyber-sport child” of German Popkov (El Clasico). The same 0-2 result can be attributed to 3Dmax, SAW, and ITB. The remaining teams currently have a record of 1-1, and it’s still unclear who will advance from this group.
