Table of Contents

Group A

Among the teams that made it to the playoffs, there was a place for those who really surprised, but in a pleasant way:

  • Team Spirit
  • Team Falcons
  • ENCE
  • MOUZ

Hardly anyone believed that these four teams would go so far, while other teams accustomed to victory were eliminated so early. However, there is no need to be surprised, as they rightfully took the places of those who performed quite mediocrely in Poland.

Something remarkable unfolded in Group A at IEM Katowice – three teams managed to make it to the playoffs: Team Spirit, FaZe Clan, and Team Falcons. Spirit and FaZe displayed impressive performances in the upper bracket and eventually faced off in the group’s final. Spirit emerged victorious in a commanding fashion, securing a 13-10 victory on Mirage and a 13-5 triumph on Nuke. It was truly a sight to behold.

One player who truly stood out was the young sensation donk. Despite his age, he played with exceptional skill, reminiscent of the best performances from players like s1mple and ZywOo in their prime. In that match, donk finished with an impressive scoreline of 48-24/1.83 and an average damage per round (ADR) of 120. His performances are evoking memories of the past greatness displayed by those legendary players.

With players like sh1ro also showcasing their talents, Team Spirit undoubtedly possesses immense potential for growth. It wouldn’t be surprising to see them triumphing in tournaments of the highest caliber, such as S-tier events, in the near future.

As for Team Falcons, they secured their spot in the playoffs by defeating Na’Vi 2-0 in the lower bracket final. It was a hard-fought battle, particularly on the first map, where both teams gave it their all. However, Falcons proved their strength and resilience, ultimately prevailing over Na’Vi. Although Na’Vi had a chance to win the match, they seemed to underestimate their opponents after a strong start on the Ancient map, leading 9-3. Unfortunately for Na’Vi, they faltered in the closing rounds, losing 2-10, and were subsequently dominated on Mirage, suffering a 4-13 defeat.
