VALORANT Challengers Oceania

VALORANT Challengers Oceania is an integral part of the game’s competitive ecosystem, serving as a second-tier tournament to complement VCT’s international leagues. The upcoming second edition of the circuit brings several exciting changes, such as expanding the participating team count from eight to 16 and integrating the game’s Premier rank system.

The journey of Challengers Oceania kicks off with the Open Qualifiers on March 4th, followed by an intense Group Stage from March 25th to March 31st. The top eight emerging teams will then advance to the Playoffs, set to take place between April 10th and May 1st. The Stage 1 action will conclude with a thrilling Grand Final on May 2nd.

In Stage 2, the bottom eight teams from Stage 1 will have the opportunity to compete against Premier players in their quest to secure a spot in the Group Stage.

VALORANT Premier is an in-game system that provides aspiring pro players with a path to showcase their skills outside of Riot’s official tournaments. To further connect Premier with the VALORANT league ecosystem, Riot introduced a Premier qualification system to VCT Challengers in November of the previous year.

Based in New Zealand, LetsPlay.Live is a leading esports event organizer and broadcast specialist since 2015. The company has a proven track record of collaborating with various stakeholders in and outside of the esports industry, including notable partners like KRAFTON and LG New Zealand.

There have been major changes to the Challengers ecosystem

As we approach the 2024 competitive VALORANT season, there have been significant developments within the Challengers ecosystem. In the EMEA branch of the league, format changes have been implemented to intensify the competition in Stage 1 and enhance the progression opportunities for players within the VCT ranks.

Additionally, for the upcoming 2024 edition, VALORANT Challengers DACH (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland) has formed a partnership with insurance company HanseMerkur.

Duane Mutu, the Managing Director of LetsPlay.Live, shared his thoughts on the collaboration with Riot, stating, “LetsPlay.Live has been at the forefront of hosting VALORANT events since the game’s release. We were the first tournament organizer in the region to consistently broadcast VALORANT tournaments on behalf of Riot Games.”

“With the increased number of participating teams compared to previous years and the integration of the premier system,” Mutu continued, “we anticipate an incredibly competitive season. More competition always translates into captivating content for fans to enjoy.”
