ESL announced all participants of IEM Katowice 2024
The IEM Katowice tournament will take place in Katowice, Poland in 2024. The main arena where the matches will be held will be the Spodek Arena. At the moment, only 8 teams are known that will take part in the tournament, the remaining 8 teams will be determined during the IEM Katowice 2024 Play-in, which will take place from January 31 to February 2. Invitations to participate in the tournament have been sent to 24 ESL teams, with 8 of them directly starting in the main stage, and the remaining 16 will compete in the Play-In.
IEM Katowice 2024, which runs from January 31 to February 11, will begin with the usual BO3 double-elimination form in the Play-In stage (with BO1 in the starting matches). The same format will be used in the group stage, where only the top 6 teams will qualify for the playoffs. The final matches of the tournament will be played at the Spodek Arena, a renowned venue that will determine the first team to qualify for IEM Cologne 2024 and the BLAST Premier World Finals.

List of teams participating at IEM Katowice 2024
The IEM Katowice tournament will begin on January 31st with the Play-In phase, where 16 teams will compete in a double-elimination system after two defeats. Winning two matches will ensure participation in the main stage, and two defeats will lead to exclusion from the tournament. The first Play-In matches will be played in the BO1 format, and all subsequent matches will be played in the BO3 format.
The top eight teams emerging from the Play-In will advance to the group stage, which begins on February 23. These teams will join the eight teams that have already received direct invitations to the main stage.
During the group stage, teams are divided into two groups and will compete in a double elimination system. The group winners will advance to the semi-finals, while the second and third place teams will advance to the quarter-finals. The final matches will be played in the classic and exciting BO5 format typical of the most prestigious events of the year.

IEM Katowice 2024 format
Play-in (January 31 – February 2):
To determine the participants of IEM Katowice, the Double-Elimination system is used. Teams need to win two matches to advance to the main stage. The first games are held in the Bo1 format, and subsequent matches, which decide the fate and entry into the main stage, are held in the Bo3 format.
Group stage (2 – 5 February):
In the group stage, 16 participants are divided into two groups of 8 teams. The Double-Elimination system is also used here. The group winner automatically advances to the semifinals, while the second and third place teams advance to the quarterfinals. All matches at this stage are played in the Bo3 format.
Playoffs (February 9-11):
The playoff stage of the tournament will be held according to the Single Elimination system. The quarter-finals and semi-finals are played in the Bo3 format, and the final in the Bo5 format.
Where to watch the IEM Katowice 2024 broadcast:
IEM Katowice 2024 CS2 matches will be broadcast on the official ESL channels on the Twitch platform. During the initial days of the tournament, several matches may be going on simultaneously.
IEM Katowice 2024 prize pool:
The total prize fund of the tournament in Poland is $1,000,000. The winner will receive $400,000, the finalist will receive $180,000, and the third and fourth place teams will each receive $80,000.
