Virtus.pro’s hiatus from the competitive Counter-Strike circuit was shortlived as the organization has revealed a new lineup moving forward and it sees the return of veterans, just not the ones you’re used to hearing that term used for.

Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski and Paweł “byali” Bieliński have been announced as returning to the lineup while Filip “NEO” Kubski will see himself as a free agent for the first time in a long time. The organization stated that future plans with Jarosław “pashaBiceps” Jarząbkowski will be announced in the next year and sticking around to help mold the new members is Jakub “kuben” Gurczyński, the squads longtime coach.

Both Snax and byali spent time working with other teams and neither had the most successful runs. Mateusz “TOAO” Zawistowski will be serving as the teams in-game leader. Most recently TOAO served as the captain of AGO, although he was benched for the end of his time there.

Roman Dvoryankin, General Manager of Virtus.pro shared the following statement in the official announcement.

“It was a difficult, but calculated decision. We trust these young players who are, I hope, the future of our CS:GO team. I’m happy to welcome byali and Snax back to our roster: the guys are no strangers to winning titles under the banner of Virtus.pro. We also expect to see our brand new player TOAO to quickly adapt and to bring fresh ideas to the team.

The decision to keep Jakub as a coach has been completely mutual. We have ensured complete support to him. Even though he has received a profitable offer from another team, Jakub stays with us to guide the Polish CS:GO back where it belongs – at the international top.

We are saying farewell to the esports legend NEO. It’s hard to overestimate his contribution to our team’s victories. Together with Wiktor Wojtas, Filip’s efforts elevated our organization to be among the leaders of the global esports scene. I wish Filip the best of luck in any career path he may choose. We will reveal our future plans together with pashaBiceps in the next year.”
