The first thing we do is assemble our iron horse — after all, there’s a long road ahead of us along an endless highway that disappears somewhere beyond the horizon. Sounds like a childhood dream, right? An American muscle car, a radio playing Wild West music, and endless expanses of canyons… I think many have imagined such a picture. But in our case, everything is a little more prosaic: we are not driving a Pontiac, but a native Zhiguli. Nevertheless, it all feels like a real adventure. The assembly of the car and interaction with it in the game are done at a good level. This is not some kind of revolution for Unity projects, but it is pleasant and exciting. I’ll tell you more later.

In general, the game is very atmospheric and relaxing. In some places it even reminded me of Euro Truck Simulator: you just drive — calmly or with your feet to the floor — the music plays, you keep your hands on the steering wheel and look ahead, at the road. It’s like a meditation on wheels. Along the way, you’ll come across various buildings where you can find loot. They’re randomly generated, but at roughly equal distances. The loot is also always different, which gives you room for creativity. Sometimes you can mix finds, for example, to make fuel mixtures. Why? Some engines require a certain proportion of components, and you can look this up in game guides (there are plenty of them, by the way). And I’m just sharing how I played the game myself.

By the way, it’s not that hardcore. For example, I drove my 5,000 km on my first try. That’s how much you need to cover if you carefully read the letter in your mailbox – this will be your main goal: to get home to your parents. The choice of cars here is not limited to one model. Zhiguli, American classics, German compact cars – you name it. I, like most people, started my journey with a Zhiguli and ended up with a chic Plymouth. By the way, it is one of the fastest in the game, but it also eats a lot of fuel. As for the “hostile fauna”, everything is simple: either wild rabbits or local crazy cannibals. You can’t call them smart – they often just run at you and don’t really dodge attacks. But that’s not the point of the game: the main thing is the atmosphere of the road and tuning your car.

But with customization, there is a complete revelry here. You can:

• change parts for cleaner, fresher or simply stylish ones,
• install parts from completely different cars (even the body or engine),
• get rid of rust and dirt,
• clean up the car cosmetically – literally wash it until it shines,
• throw whatever you want into the interior if the trunk is already full.

For example, I put a bag with a revolver and cartridges on the front seat – just in case. You never know who you might meet on the road.

There’s plenty to do in the game. During the day you’re racing along the highway, at night you can sleep if you don’t want to drive in complete darkness. And sometimes you can spot a UFO in the sky. And if you try really hard (for example, build a ladder to it from boards and other junk), you can even get there. But alas – the distance you fly will not be counted. And the chance of meeting a saucer is rare.
