Mobile esports is making large strides as its popularity continues to grow around the world. With the recent Guns of Boom Season One Finals finishing up in Los Angeles, California, bigger moves are on the horizon.
Game Insight, the game’s developer has revealed a partnership with ESL for Guns of Boom Season Two. In addition, Gods of Boom will be making its debut. Gods of Boom is “a new stadium-level series of tournaments that will be part of the world’s biggest esports events,” the press release states.
The IEM Expo in Katowice, Poland will showcase the first-ever Gods of Boom event. How committed are they? Well the final match will be taking place on the main stage, the first time a mobile game will be played and competed in on one of “ESL’s mega stages.”
“I was competing in esports nearly 20 years ago, and have been a fan of competitive gaming ever since,” said Anatoly Ropotov, CEO of Game Insight in the official press release. “To bring Guns of Boom to IEM Expo, the biggest esports trade show out there, feels like something of a homecoming. I can’t imagine a better place to debut our Gods of Boom tournament series.”
Want to try your hand at it? Well the game will be offering players the opportunity to compete in the Challenger Series online games for a chance at earning rewards. In addition, the very best teams from the Challengers Series will have a chance to compete at Pro League events.
The Season One winners, Black Bulls, are the first team to have been invited to compete in the Gods of Boom invitational at IEM Expo 2019 in Katowice.
