Newbie player MieGod conquered Group C at the WePlay Artifact tournament tonight. The Chinese was one of two red/green ramp decks and had to beat Virtus.pro’s Artem “DrHippi” Kravets in the winners match.

MieGod’s list is very similar to the one Adrian “Lifecoach” Koy piloted to the playoffs on day one. The few differences include Lycan for MieGod in place of Beastmaster for Lifecoach. Triple Stars Align is also in MieGod’s deck, further increasing his ramp potential. The curve tops with the usual Time of Triumph, Spring the Trap and Emissary of the Quorum.

When it came to the actual run through the group, MieGod had to endure a true marathon. The opening match against GWENT player Freddy “Freddybabes” Bird went to five games, as the players kept tying, killing each other’s towers at the same time.

Newbee’s ace is the fifth player to make it to the top 16. The second player from Group C will come from the match between DrHippi and the winner of Freddybabes and Matthew Folks. The match is ongoing here.

Group D will also complete by the end of the night, set to be another thriller. The group features Dima “Rdu” Radu, Fredrik “Hoej” Nielsen, Tugay “MrYagut” Evsan and Andrey “Reynad” Yanyuk.

WePlay’s playoffs line-up (5/16):

— StrifeCro: UG Combo
— Lifecoach: RG Midrange
— Xixo: BR “The Oath” Aggro
— StanCifka: BR Aggro
— MieGod: RG Ramp
