More European talent is headed for the LCS. After reports put Kasper “Kobbe” Kobberup on his way to Team SoloMid to replace Jesper “Zven” Svenningsen, more info from ESPN indicates jungler changes in LCS’ best team — Team Liquid.
On Monday, Team Liquid announced the departure of Jake “Xmithie” Pucherro, making the jungler one of the hottest free agents in the region. A vital part to Liquid’s four LCS championships in a row, the Filipino was certainly going to be a very contested asset.
According to ESPN, Xmithie will take the jungle in the new Immortals franchise, who acquired OpTic Gaming’s assets (including their LCS slot) earlier this year. The move makes sense, given the departure of former jungler William “Meteos” Hartman, which left the position vacant.
As for Liquid, reports place Fnatic’s current Mads “Broxah” Pedersen to replace Xmithie for the new season. Broxah recently spoke against the backlash from fans following Fnatic’s failed Worlds campaign, calling them “aggressive, negative, toxic”. Even if rumors about the strained relationship between Broxah and star carry Martin “Rekkles” Larsson are untrue, as both players have stated on multiple occasions, the Dane seems to not feel comfortable with the LEC team anymore. If he ends up on Liquid, this will be first time in over three years that Broxah does not carry a Fnatic jersey.
