SK has entered into negotiations with Oskar “smm” Boderek, Marcin “Selfie” Wolski, Kim “Veritas” Kyoung-min, Lee “IgNar” Dong-geun , and is close to signing Fabian “Sheepy” Mallant as their Head Coach, sources told VPEsports on Thursday.

SK Gaming could acquire a variety of experienced players complemented by hot European talent Selfmade. Selfmade, or SMM, has played professionally since 2017 in the Spanish LVP League, with ThunderX3 Baskonia and more recently, LVP Summer champions MAD Lions. Rated highly by his peers and numerous European talents, Selfmade is a player to look forward to in 2019.

In addition to the young talent, SK Gaming could also bring in two Korean players back to Europe in IgNar and Veritas. IgNar has played in North America, Europe, and South Korea, but made his name with Europe’s Misfits Gaming in 2017, when the team was one game away from eliminating SK Telecom T1 in the World Championship quarterfinals. Since IgNar’s debut in North America, his reputation largely has consisted of his prowess on engage supports, being the one to innovate Leona support with the Fervor keystone at Worlds. IgNar spent the 2018 season with BBQ Olivers, which failed to make playoffs in both Spring and Summer, while also being relegated in the latter split.

His possible bottom lane partner Veritas has spent time in Australia’s Oceanic Premier League, North American Challenger, Challengers Korea, and most notably Europe with Unicorns of Love. With UoL, he placed 4th in EU LCS playoffs and narrowly missed the World Championship that year. Later on that year, Veritas won IEM Oakland with UoL before splitting off from the team. More recently, Veritas has spent time on CJ Entus and Damwon Gaming the last two years, failing to promote to LoL Champions Korea with either team.

Mid laner Selfie has spent time in both North American and Europe, but spent the last year with H2K, with who he placed 5th-6th and 10th in 2018. Generally regarded as a solid mid lane prospect, Selfie could provide SK Gaming with consistent play.

Following Unicorns of Love’s failure to make it into the newly established LEC, it is only natural that the support staff be targeted. Sheepy was often credited with UoL’s tenacity and consistent contention given the organization’s public lack of resources and constant cycling of talent.
