Invictus Gaming owner Wang “WXZ” Sicong is celebrating his organization’s win at the 2018 League of Legends World Championship with a massive giveaway campaign, the man himself announced on Weibo. The giveaway campaign will span multiple rounds and the first one will feature awarding 10,000 yuan to each of 113 fans for a total of 1,130,000 yuan, or upwards of $163,000.

“To celebrate iG’s championship, I’m going to do a “Championship Celebration Month” as well,” Sicong writes in the post. “This month, I’m going to issue 4 rounds of giveaways. Today, we will have the first round: I’m going to give 10,000 RMB to each of 113 people (to celebrate iG’s championship on 11/3) who repost, comment or like this weibo post.”
Expectedly, Sicong’s post is currently the hottest one on Weibo.
Invictus Gaming made history earlier this month, by not only winning the 2018 Worlds title, but also stopping the five-year hegemony of South Korea. iG finished second in their group behind Fnatic, but took revenge on the EU LCS champion 3-0 in the closing match, making for the fastest World Championship final to date. Invictus Gaming had a strong domestic showing as well. Between the Spring and Summer regular seasons, iG acquired a record of 36-2, though missed the gold in both season’s playoffs.
While experts expected a strong finish for LPL this year, it was in fact Royal Never Give Up who were heralded as the potential champions, despite iG’s domestic record. However, the roster around Jian “Uzi” Zi-Hai faced unexpected quarterfinal elimination to G2 Esports, resulting in perhaps the biggest upset of Worlds 2018.
