Developers miHoYo are preparing a major update for Genshin Impact, Luna VII, with the long but beautiful title “Song of the Welkin Moon: Andante – Truth Amongst the Pages of Purana.” The release is May 20th. Events will once again lead us to Sumeru, where everything seems to be going awry.
The new story arc will unfold against a backdrop of growing chaos—a wise region once brimming with knowledge is plunged into crisis. The main concern: Nahida has fallen into a mysterious slumber, and without her, order in Sumeru is crumbling. The situation is exacerbated by the appearance of a mysterious enemy who bears an eerie resemblance to Il Dottore—the same enemy, as you might remember, long thought defeated. So lore fans should brace themselves for some unexpected twists.
On a positive note, the patch will add three new playable characters. The first is Nicole, a newcomer from the mysterious “Hexenzirkel” (yes, we can now play as her). The second is Loen, a knight and vice-captain. The third is Prune, aka the “Witch Hunter.” Additionally, there will be temporary events and new content for Miliastra Wonderland—a must-have in major updates.
Completing the story chapter during the limited time will reward you with 560 Primogems, materials for Nicole’s ascension, and, most importantly, access to a new weekly boss. Therefore, he will be a formidable opponent. Incidentally, old acquaintances will also be helping you confront this threat: Kollei, Ibis King Toth, and Nicole herself. This can hardly be a coincidence—they’re apparently plotting an epic climax.

New characters in Genshin Impact 5.7 abilities and skills
The “Song of the Welkin Moon: Andante” update will welcome three new characters to the roster. And the first of them is Nicole Raine. This is a significant event: she became the first playable mage from Hexenzirkel, whom we finally got to play.
Nicole Raine Pyro Catalyst skills in Hexenzirkel
A five-star Pyro Catalyst, if you just look at the numbers. In fact, her kit looks fantastic for a support. Her elemental skill buffs the entire party—even those on the bench—and grants a shield. An elemental explosion summons a projection that follows the active character and pummels enemies with coordinated strikes. Additionally, the Witch’s Hut, a location in the Witch’s Garden, will be opening. New rooms, stories, and hidden rewards will be revealed there every week. A good incentive to visit often.

Loen Cryo Spear mechanic Joy and the Will to Win
Loen is also a five-star, but a Cryo Spearman. According to the story, he’s the vice-captain of the 5th company of the Knights of the Ordo Favonius. He has an interesting mechanic: he uses the resources “Joy” and “Will to Win” to deal massive Cryo damage. This power is especially increased if there’s a Hexenzirkel in the squad. Coincidence? I think not—miHoYo is clearly being pushed toward certain builds.
Prune Anemo Catalyst Dispersion Tactic
The third one is Prune. She calls herself a “Witch Hunter.” Modest? Hardly. A four-star Anemo Catalyst, but with a twist. Instead of her normal attacks, she wields a bell and a giant hammer. This allows Prune to deal multi-elemental damage and easily triggers the Dispersion reaction. She seems like the perfect driver for multi-element teams.
Luna VII Banner Schedule and the Claye Event
The Luna VII version of the Prayers will be structured like this: the first half will feature the debut of Nicole and Prune, plus a repeat of Durin’s Prayer. The second half will feature Loen and the return of Mavuika. It’s worth planning your rotations in advance.

We’ll also be getting a limited-time event dedicated to “Little Hexenzirkel”… Claye! Seriously, that’s it. Along with her, Qi Qi, Yao Yao, Sayu, and the newcomer Prune will be participating in the minigames. Participation will reward the exclusive weapon skin “Super-Cool Magic Key.” The name says it all—it’s decidedly unpretentious, but fans will appreciate it.
Working Genshin Impact Promo Codes for Primogems May 2026
miHoYo has given away three new promo codes—and the timer is already ticking. You must redeem them by May 11th, 7:00 AM Moscow time. Then they’ll simply be deleted.
Here’s what you’ll get:
-
BacktoSumeru — 100 Primogems and 10 Magic Enhancement Ore. Useful for upgrading weapons.
-
NicolaCoco — 100 Primogems plus 5 Hero XP Books. The heroes will thank you.
-
WilltoWin — another 100 Primogems + 50,000 Mora. Mora is always a treat.
In total, you get 300 Primogems, a couple of booklets, ore, and a decent amount of Mora. A small thing, but nice — especially before the big update on May 20th. It’s best to activate it right now, without putting it off until tonight. Forgetfulness is the main enemy of farming.
