Fortnite Announces Celebrity Pro-Am

There’s no doubt that Fortnite is one of the fastest growing games in recent memory. The unique building aspect, as well as the arcade feel of the game are just a couple reasons why so many gamers are gravitating towards the latest and greatest battle royale game. If you’ve been sleeping, perhaps you’ve missed all the Fortnite craze that has happened within the last 24 hours.

Ninja, a very popular Twitch streamer, has been making waves with his Fortnite play.

And that’s just one example of what he can do. Recently, popular Canadian rapper Drake, followed Ninja on Instagram. The two started talking and eventually played together. Shortly after, they also had Pittsburgh Steelers wide reciever JuJu Smith-Schuster as well as American rapper Travis Scott play with them. The squad had over 600,000 concurrent viewers, breaking the previous mark held by Dr. Disrespect at 388,000.

Following the success of the squad’s stream, Epic Games announced today that they’re hosting a Party Royale Celebrity Pro-Am at E3.

“Teams will clash in the premier Fortnite Celebrity Pro-Am in Los Angeles during E3. One team will rise to the top for ultimate bragging rights. Who will claim Victory Royale? We’ll soon begin building the teams, so stay tuned for more information on the event.”

Fifty pro gamers as well as fifty celebrities will all drop out of the Party Bus in an epic clash. Fortnite will have no problem attracting celebrities to come play. Many chimed in last night wanting to play with Ninja.

VPEsports will have more information as soon as it’s released. Stay tuned!
