While The International 2018 may not have produced the best results, Winstrike have announced that they will be staying together. The CIS squad announced via their Twitter account today that there would be no departures in the Post TI Roster Shuffle.

Before they were signed to Winstrike Team the CIS squad known as FLYTOMOON had a pretty special run through the Dota 2 Pro Circuit. It would not see many victories coming their way, but EPICENTER XL was definitely an amazing moment as the team OG, Virtus.pro and Mineski – even taking games off Team Liquid, and claiming a 3rd place finish at the Major. Through the CIS Regional Qualifiers, the team looked promising and on the penultimate day, they became Winstrike before they claimed their spot at TI8.
Their run through the Group Stages of TI was less-than-spectacular, only able to beat Invictus Gaming while taking games off OG and Fnatic, but this was just enough to secure them a tiebreaker, which they won and proceeded to the Main Stage. Going up against Newbee in their first game would be a daunting task, but the team stood firm and eliminated the ex-TI champion organisation from the event – unfortunately they would meet their demise at the hands of VGJ.Storm in the next round, but an admirable 9th-12th place was there for the squad.
While they only seemed to get their game-plan together toward the end, Winstrike have decided not to call it quits and to head into the next DPC season with their heads held high. The team’s roster is:
– Airat ‘Silent’ Gaziev
– Bogdan ‘Iceberg’ Vasilenko
– Alexey ‘nongrata’ Vasilyev
– Aleksander ‘Nofear’ Churochkin
– Andrey ‘ALWAYSWANNAFLY’ Bondarenko
We hope to see this squad do amazing things in the coming year as they keep CIS Dota 2’s flag flying high.
