EHOME recently were involved in the MDL Chengdu Major, but after some extremely poor performances in the lower bracket, they would be eliminated. This has caused the team to remove their recently added carry, Cheng ‘vtFaded’ Jia Hao.
With two ex-Wings Gaming TI winners on the roster, as well as some brilliant players around them, EHOME were expected to open the Dota 2 Pro Circuit season on the front foot. However, their final series at the MDL Chengdu Major, against Team Liquid, showed a few flaws in the teams plan as they were unable to ever really get off the mark and the team’s coach, Zhang ‘xiao8’ Ning pointed the blame at the team’s two core players; vtFaded and Tang ‘897’ Zhirui.
After returning home from the Major, it was revealed that EHOME had removed vtFaded from their roster and confirmed via the Dota 2 registration page.
In a response to xiao8 made via his Twitter account, vtFaded had the following to say,
It’s been a pleasant time here on EHOME, I learned a lot from my teammates and xiao8, they are super easy to get along with. However, it’s true that I didn’t perform well at this Major. That being said, I don’t agree with what xiao8 said on stream about me and 897 not having the raw skill to be top tier carries. I’m an easy person and don’t really have strong opinions, I do what teammates ask me to do, but I feel both of us have the ability to carry the game. Maybe I am not a super skilled player who can singlehandedly turn the game around like ame, paparazzi or monet, moreover, even if I were, I wouldn’t be here and learn from my teammates. The deal was to make a temporary adjustment and to bench me. But I myself don’t want to stay here anymore. However, contract-wise I’m still on EHOME. So, I’m going to take a break and digest what I learned from this experience. Thank you for the opportunity.”
Officially there has been no word from the EHOME organisation on vtFaded’s removal from the team nor any sign of who might replace him in the upcoming Minor/Major qualifiers. For now the EHOME roster remains at four – but only time will tell if 897 will get the same treatment.
