Virtus.pro forfeited their spot at the upcoming ELS One Germany and placed their main team on inactive status for an indefinite period.
The decision was announced last night by the organization citing lacklustre performance from their squad in the last several months. “The team has not been performing as expected in recent months. The management, the players, and you, our fans, can agree on that. Now is the time to put things on pause and make important decisions about the roster’s future, “ Virtus.pro said.
After the big roster shakeup in the post TI9 shuffle, VP struggled to maintain their top form and stay at the top of their region. At the first LAN tournaments with the new line-up, they placed in the top 6 and exited the DreamLeague Leipzig Major bottom four. When the season shifted to online tournaments, apart from winning the ESL One Los Angeles and the Parimatch League Season 3, VP haven’t got many notable results and it seems like the recent top eight finish at OMEGA League was the final straw for the organization.
The CIS region has just entered a shuffle window of its own after the China teams finished theirs. First moves were made earlier this week by Natus Vincere who is now on a trial period with the full FlyToMoon roster and by Virtus.pro who are also testing the waters in the OGA Dota PIT Online Season 3 with a revamped line-up for their secondary squad, VP.Prodigy.
