The final day of The Chongqing Major was upon us and a champion would be crowned today but first Evil Geniuses would go up against Team Secret as both teams attempted to join VP in the grand finals. Secret would be hoping to get into the grand final and upset VP while Team Secret would be looking to claim the first of 2019.

Game one was an absolute slaughter from Secret, who played an amazingly fast-paced game with damage mitigation by the tons and even more damage over and above that. From start to finish, Secret maintained complete control of the game and never let their opponents have even the briefest of openings into the game.

It took a little over half an hour for Secret to shut the door on game one – claiming a massive 28-6 victory and taking a 1-0 advantage in the series.

The next game of the series saw EG attempting to find some sort of early game control but at every turn, Secret had their number. Even when EG had a few promising shows of their skills, Secret refused to stop the pressure. Clement ‘Puppey’ Ivanov’s team constantly ran at their opponents and EG had absolutely no response to it which led to a near perfect series from Team Secret and a 2-0 victory over EG.

Evil Geniuses would unfortunately, but valiantly, end their Chongqing Major run in 3rd place, taking a massive 2100 DPC points and $100,000 home. Team Secret, on the other hand, would secure themselves a spot in the Grand Finals of the Major.

A replay of The Kuala Lumpur Major Grand Final awaited Team Secret as they faced Virtus.pro in the Grand Finals of The Chongqing Major.
