Two days ago EPULZE, a tournament hosting platform, reported Team Empire to have disbanded and therefore replaced in a small online event with another team.

Later on, the Dota 2 team manager, Dmitry “Korb3n” Belov explained to that Empire decided to take a small competitive break to think over what needs to be done as the new roster underperformed in the first qualifiers of the new season. “Right now we need a short break to think it over,” Korb3n said.

Team Empire introduced their new roster during the post TI8 shuffle and from the old squad they only kept Jaroslav “Miposhka” Naydenov, who also maintained the captain role.

Team Empire roster:

Zaur “Cooman” Shakhmurzaev
Vladimir “Chappie” Kuzmenko
Jaroslav “Miposhka” Naydenov
Oleg “sayuw” Kalenbet
Igor “Maden” Modenov

Their best result so far this season was the third-place finish from Reshuffle Madness, an online tournament for $50,000, where Team Empire survived three rounds in the lower bracket by taking down Na’Vi, Odium and Team Spirit before being eliminated in the loser’s finals by Alliance.

However, at the start of the season, all the teams focused their efforts on the first Major and first Minor qualifiers. After they were eliminated in both rounds of the open qualifiers for the Kuala Lumpur Major and after failing in the DreamLeague Season 10 Minor qualifiers as well, Team Empire started to rotate a few stand-in players.

During the Autumn Brawl group stage, they used Dmitrii “DM” Dorokhin standing in for Vladimir “Chappie” Kuzmenko, but registered just one victory, which was not enough to advance into the tournament playoffs. At the Taurora Invitational #2, an online event where Empire got directly invited, they used Sergey “God” Bragin instead of Zaur “Cooman” Shakhmurzayev. Yesterday the team decided to withdraw from the event and all their results were nullified.
