WeSave! Charity Play has been a fantastic online event which begun last Friday, March 20th and today we would begin to see some of the grand finals – with Geek Fam and Team Adroit fighting in the Southeast Asia battle.

While TNC Predator and BOOM Esports were also present in the four original teams from the region to enter the WeSave! Charity Play event, they quickly fell by the wayside to Adroit and Geek Fam, respectively. The two grand final teams had definitely taken over the top of the SEA Dota 2 scene in recent times and a best-of-five series in the name of fighting the COVID-19 pandemic would definitely be huge.

Having reached the next stretch goal of $180,000 all grand finals were set to be an epic best-of-five series and everyone was ready for some amazing Dota 2 action, with the prize pool all going toward research and aid for the COVID-19 pandemic. It was GF who had struck first, dominating their opponents in a brutal show of skill – before Adroit struck back to tie things up in a very messy and chaotic second game.

Even though these games were considered friendlies between the teams, it did not stop Adroit from absolutely dominating in the next game too. Winning all three lanes in the early game period meant that they were almost assured victory – especially when GF had no way to fight into the mid-game. But GF weren’t about to give up just yet and they absolutely slaughtered Adroit over 40-minutes and taking the first grand final to a decisive game five.

Both teams had played an amazing series already, giving it their all in every game and the final one was exactly the same, with neither wanting to give up the series. It was a very back-and-forth game that went passed the hour mark, with tier five neutral items and Divine Rapiers.

In the blink of an eye, after an amazing series, Adroit jumped in to take the last game, winning the grand finals of Southeast Asia’s WeSave! Charity Play event with a 3-2 scoreline.

The online action from WeSave! Charity Play is not over for today by a long shot, with the CIS grand final between HellRaisers and Natus Vincere up next, before the North American grand finals between CR4ZY and Evil Geniuses closes out the day. With more stretch goals to be met too, there is still a lot of Dota 2 to come our way over the coming days.
