European qualifiers for ESL One Los Angeles saw many massive teams coming out to fight such as OG, Team Secret and Nigma – but as only three spots were available, some fell by the wayside and it was surprisingly Ninjas in Pyjamas and Aggressive Mode who would fight for the last spot.

ESL One Los Angeles will be the third Major stop in the Dota 2 Pro Circuit but for the likes of OG, this would be their first of the season. The two-time TI-winning organisation, while fielding a new roster, smashed their way through open qualifiers and managed to easily take their place at the upcoming Major, alongside Team Secret – the recent victors of DreamLeague Season 13. This left two very unlikely teams fighting over the final spot for the region at the event; Ninjas in Pyjamas and Aggressive Mode.

With the likes of Team Liquid, Alliance, OG Seed and even Nigma not making it to the Major, these two teams somehow stuck through the group stages and managed to give themselves a shot at their first Major appearances for the season. NiP, having recently rebuilt their lineup, would have fierce opposition in AM, a squad which featured ex-NiP member, Oliver ‘Skiter’ Lepko.

However, NiP had absolutely no troubles dispatching the AM squad in a quick 2-0, thus sending them into their first Major of the season. For Nigma, Alliance, Team Liquid and Aggressive Mode, they will now get the chance to fight for the single EU spot at the StarLadder ImbaTV Season 3 Minor – for which the qualifiers begin tomorrow.

The qualifiers continue today with North and South America finding their champions for ESL One Los Angeles, while China’s open qualifier also begun.
