It has been a long time since EHOME has been a name on the lips of the Dota 2 community – since The International (the first of its kind) the team has barely made ground in the scene. But a few roster changes and a new coach could shake things up for the Chinese squad.
The most recent news out the EHOME camp came at the end of April 2018 which saw Wang ‘old chicken’ Zhiyong rejoin the team after a brief 2-month stint with Keen Gaming. Now, barely a month after this, the team announces their latest roster which includes a massive change in the coaching role. Zhang ‘xiao8’ Ning is a huge name in the Chinese Dota 2 community, having been there with LGD Gaming at TI2 and TI5 when they finished 3rd and then with Newbee as they reigned supreme at TI4. Announced late yesterday, the distinguished member of the Dota 2 scene will make his return, in the coaching role, ready to hopefully guide EHOME down a victorious path.
EHOME Dota changes:
Guvara replaces hym, will play offlane.
TI4 champion xiao8 joins EHOME as coach.

The team itself will also see a few changes as Hu ‘Guvara’ Sen moves in from EHOME.Immortal to replace Xu ‘Hym’ Zhi. This change will see Guvara take the position 3 role, while Zhang ‘Faith_bian’ Ruida, formerly of the Wings Gaming team who crushed TI6, would move into the position 4 role. The full new roster, including their new coach is:
- Chen ‘CTY’ Tianyu
- Wang ‘old chicken’ Zhiyong
- Hu ‘Guvara’ Sen
- Zhang ‘Faith_bian’ Ruida
- Zhang ‘y`’ Yiping
- Zhang ‘xia8’ Ning (coach)
The team sounds absolutely amazing on paper, and with xiao8 in a coaching role, they could look to challenge many other Chinese Dota 2 teams in the upcoming qualifiers for The International 2018. We look forward to seeing them in action as soon as possible.
