The final team to come through regional qualifiers for the final Major of the Dota 2 Pro Circuit season has been confirmed after a long day of qualifiers has come to an end for the Southeast Asia region.
The SEA qualifiers were rather interesting, to say the least, with Mineski not making it anywhere close to the top and TNC Predator dominating nearly everyone to claim the region’s first Major spot. However, it got even more interesting today with the open qualifier entrant, Power of MYSG+AU, having an epic lower bracket run and reaching the finals. The team consists of mostly unknown players from the SEA region but contains Kim ‘Velo’ Tae-sung as well as well-known player, coach and caster, Chan ‘WinteR’ Litt Binn.
Unfortunately for the squad, even after eliminating both Geek Fam and BOOM ID, Fnatic was their final hurdle. In a magnificent full-five-game series, they threw everything that they could at Fnatic but it was just not enough. While it was no walk-in-the-park for Fnatic, they would be heading to EPICENTER, hoping to find a better result than they did at the previous Major.
All that said, hopefully the likes of Power of MYSG+AU will make it to the Minor and we can see more of their Dota 2 antics – but there is still a long road ahead of them which involves getting through Minor qualifiers in just a few weeks.
But, with that, the 14 teams heading to EPICENTER via qualifiers have been confirmed and now we look towards the StarLadder ImbaTV Minor to find the final two teams who join in at the DPC’S final Major of the season.
