A week keeps us apart from the biggest tournament of the year. The International 2019 is set to commence on the 15th of August featuring the best 18 teams of the season fighting for a total prize pool that’s over $32,000,000 already.

Following the broadcast talent for TI9 announcement made last night, Valve have also revealed the prize pool distribution for this year’s TI. It’s once again an esports record in terms of prize winnings. In 2018, the TI8 champions, OG were rewarded $11,234,158, but the prize this year is even higher and the TI9 champions will take home more than 14 million dollars, 45.5% of the total prize pool.

However, the TI9 runner-up placed team will not only have to deal with the idea that they lost the battle for the Aegis of Champions in the final act, but they will also go home with just 13% of the prize pool, which a week before the tournament starts is around $4,170,529.
