Chinese qualifiers for The International 2019 were slated to bring the most action and a lot of hype given the many big names fighting for just one ticket to the most important tournament of the year.
At the end of day two in the eliminatory group stage, four teams will have to wave goodbye to their TI dream and EHOME are not in a leading position. After the first day of matches, they were fifth in the group and they needed to win both of their matches from today. The first one was held against Newbee and it surpassed all expectations. The game went on for 92 minutes and had Newbee holding the networth advantage for the whole game. The TI7 runner up team had Song “Sccc” Chun on a mid lane Medusa, ended up as the second most farmed Medusa in the 7.XX Dota 2 era with 911 GPM.
However, on the other side of the map, there was EHOME with a couple of TI winners eager to secure themselves a chance to fight for what nobody has done before: a second Aegis of the Champions.
TI2 Champion with Invictus Gaming, also dubbed as The Pianist, Luo “Ferrari_430” Feichi came from retirement this year and as he himself admitted in a few interviews that he had a lot of work to do to get close to a good shape for The International. Back in April, when he was playing for the first time on a LAN tournament with EHOME, he told us “I’m definitely not as good as I was at TI2. That was my best shape, but I’m working hard to go back to that. I just joined EHOME and this is the first time when I play in a full competitive set-up in a few years so, I’m still adjusting, still learning how to play around my teammates […] I would say the game is more challenging for a mid laner now and that’s why I say I still have a lot of work to do and that’s exciting.”
Three months later he broke records on Arc Warden, and this comes after Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi’s insane Arc Warden game from the EPICENTER grand finals.
With Ferrari_430 on Arc Warden today and the TI6 winner Zhang “Faith_bian” Ruida on Tiny, EHOME recovered from a 38K deficit to take Newbee’s base in one push. While Ferrari closed the game as the most framed Arc Warden in the history of Dota 2 professional scene, he and his team benefited from the clutch plays of an incredibly beefy Tiny of Faith_bian who was dominating the team fights with his ridiculous 65 armor.
Following the one hour and a half game versus Newbee, EHOME took down Team Sirius in under 30 minutes and now they have to wait for the rest of the teams to finish their match-ups to see if they indeed made it to the playoffs or if they have to play a tiebreaker for the fourth place in the group.
