Linus “Limmp” Blomdin and Rasmus “Chessie” Blomdin are now playing in two different regions, but both will be happy to fight this fall in their hometown, Stockholm for the DreamLeague Season 10 trophy.

For the most part of their starting years in esports, the two have been inseparable. They started their professional careers together in Heroes of Newerth at the stayGreen squad. Together they made the leap to Dota 2 and played for Ninjas in Pyjamas back in 2015 and for coL more recently. Chessie had to take a break after TI6 due to health issues and while his brother remained with compLexity to the present days, Chessie is now playing alongside old friends in a full Swedish squad, The Final Tribe (TFT).

TFT was formed in the TI7 aftermath at Adrian “Era” Kryeziu’s initiative. The first Dota Pro Circuit season was rough for the five Swedes, who qualified just for two Minors and one Major the entire season. In the TI8 European qualifiers where OG came from the open brackets to write the most amazing TI Champions story to date, TFT had little to no chance.  Nonetheless, The Final Tribe strive forward and after making just one adjustment to their roster, they are now the first European team qualified for the first Minor of the new DPC season.

After finishing the KL Major European qualifiers on the 7th/8th spot, TFT didn’t get an invite in the closed regional qualifiers for DreamLeague Season 10 Minor. Team Liquid, MangoBay, and Team Lithium were the organizer’s choices instead. Era, now a position 5 support and the team captain, made it to the closed qualifiers from opens and lead TFT to one crucial victory for the five Swedes, who can still make it to the Kuala Lumpur Major if they win the DreamLeague Season 10 Minor, which is held in their home country.

The Final Tribe roster:

– Pontus Frost
– Rasmus “Chessie” Blomdin
– Jonas “jonassomfan” Lindholm
– Simon “Handsken” Haag
– Adrian “Era” Kryeziu

This 2018-2019 DPC season has a bunch of new rules, one of them being that no teams receive direct invites to the Majors and Minors. Fifteen squads made it to the KL Major via regional qualifiers held in the six big regions, with one more team about to join them via a Championship victory at the DreamLeague Season 10. The Minor event will take place at the Monster Energy DreamHack Studios from Stockholm, Sweden from October 29 to November 4. Eight teams in total will fight for the title and the final Major qualifying slot. Europe and North America have two slots reserved in the regional qualifiers for DL Minor and The Final Tribe and compLexity Gaming (from NA) are the first two teams to have secured their tickets.

In Europe, Team Liquid, MangoBay and Team Lithium are still battling for the second slot, while in NA, ROOONS, Team Xolotl and Team Team are the three left standing. The closed regional qualifiers in these two regions will resume today, the full schedule being as follows:

  • 14:00 EEST/04:00 PDT – Team Lithium vs Team Liquid
  • 18:00 EEST/08:00 PDT – MangoBay vs TBD (winner qualifies for the Minor)

North America:

  • 01:00 EEST/15:00 PDT – ROOONS vs Team Xolotl
  • 04:00 EEST/16:00 PDT – Team Team vs TBD (winner qualifies for the Minor)
