It was only been a few months since Team Spirit decided to rejoin the Dota 2 fray, picking up a CIS roster that had been on the rise. But after their failure to reach The International 2019, it seems as though they have disbanded – for the second time since January.
Old But Gold were a fantastic roster of Russian Dota 2 players, all with long-standing careers in the CIS region of the game. The squad was announced in late January of 2019 and they looked to conquer both their region and Dota 2 Pro Circuit. Unfortunately, it was not the easiest of regions with the likes of Natus Vincere and Gambit Esports also making their way up and they failed in their first attempt at a Major. But they did not give up and found their way into the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season 1 where they had an extremely strong showing – even eliminating TI8 winners OG, before being eliminated in third/fourth place.
However, this fantastic result saw them get picked up by Team Spirit, who had dropped their roster in January too. But, once again, the team saw no luck in the DPC and when it came to TI9 qualifiers, the fierce competition of the CIS region pushed them down quickly and without remorse. Without the prospects of The International, the roster has now disbanded once again.

It is unknown at this time whether or not the five players will get back together once again for the next season, but we wish them the best of luck in their future and hope that we do get to see them once again.
