The Dota 2 Minors have always seemingly had a chance for smaller teams from some regions to make their way into the pro circuit – and finally it has happened.
The qualifiers for the OGA Dota Pit Minor have been going on over the last few days and the South American iteration has just come to an end with a fairly unknown team beating the rest of the pack, Pacific eSports. Formed in February of this year, the squad took to the MDL Disneyland Paris Major qualifiers first and their first claim-to-fame was to make it through the open bracket. However, when it came to the closed qualifiers they did not have any showing and so they looked to the Minor.
Beating out the likes of prominent South American teams such as Thunder Predator and SG e-sports, Pacific now get a chance to play on the big stage in just a few weeks.
Only the European and Southeast Asia regional qualifiers remain undecided for the OGA Dota 2 Pit Minor, but within 24 hours all teams will be locked in place and ready to battle in Croatia later this month.
