As the Chinese reshuffle continues, sources close to the competitive Dota 2 scene within the region have informed us of changes that will be coming to the Team Aster lineup.

With the news of Song ‘Sccc’ Chun’s contract not being extended and that he will no longer be on the Team Aster squad, as per the player’s wishes, the team will possibly move forward with a new lineup which features a new position one and two. Sources close to the Chinese Dota 2 competitive scene have informed us that these two new players will be coming from Royal Never Give Up, who recently withdrew from ESL One Thailand 2020: Asia – and this would explain why they have done so.

According to these sources both Du ‘Monet’ Peng and Liu ‘白学家’ Yuhao have left the RNG squad and signed new contracts with Aster. With their string of third place finishes at a number of recent events, RNG have seemed rather strong, while Aster have not had the best results since their brilliant victory at StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor Season 3, just prior to the lockdown as a result of the current global pandemic. This news will also mean that Kee ‘ChYuan’ Chyuan Ng will no longer be a part of the Aster squad as they move forward.

The full new Team Aster roster will look like this:

  • Du ‘Monet’ Peng
  • Liu ‘白学家’ Yuhao
  • Lin ‘Xxs’ Jing
  • Pan ‘Fade’ Yi
  • Ye ‘BoBoKa’ Zhibiao

It will be interesting to see what this new Aster squad can do when the top Chinese Dota 2 teams return from their break towards the end of August, after the shuffle period. For now, we will continue to keep you up to date on any further news on the likes of RNG’s roster and any other Chinese shuffles that are coming.
