Having lost their first series at ESL One Germany 2020, mudgolems have since looked a far better squad, beating their opponents with ease and today gave them a shot at reaching the playoff stage with a series against Natus Vincere.
All three series today at ESL One Germany 2020, would see the victorious team claiming their third series win and thus moving themselves into the playoff stage. As the fourth round of modified Swiss-format group stag action came to an end, mudgolems would have a shot at proving their strength against the resurgent Natus Vincere. While mudgolem’s previous series saw them take down the mighty Team Nigma, Na’Vi were also in the limelight with a win over Winstrike – but today would end in loss for one of the squads.
Although it was set to be an epic series of Dota 2 action, it turned out to be a rather swift and one-sided affair, as mudgolems absolutely destroyed their opponent in two games of similar length. Na’Vi managed to only show one glimmer of hope throughout the entire series when they secured a team wipe in game one, but it was nowhere near enough to unsettle mudgolems – who took the series in two games of little over forty-minutes each.
For Na’Vi, this leaves them with just one more chance at reaching the playoffs of ESL One Germany 2020, as they move into the fifth round of the group stage. Mudgolems, having now won three series, secure their spot in the playoff stage, joining the likes of OG, Team Secret and Alliance for the time being, with more to come later today.
