Geek Fam’s mid lane player Karl Jayme has already found a new place to call home, and in fact, he is rejoining Execration, where he spent a full year back in 2018.
Karl became a free agent last week when Geek Fam announced an indefinite hiatus for their Dota 2 team and released all players from their roster citing financial insecurities after the cancellation of the 2019 – 2020 Dota Pro Circuit and the uncertainty regarding The International 10. He played for Geek Fam since December last year and got to attend the WePlay! Bukovel Minor in January 2020, where Geek Fam placed third. He was also set to play under the Geek Fam banner in the ESL One Los Angeles Major and even made the trip to the US with the whole team, but unfortunately, they had to return home with no tournament memories as the event got cancelled 36 hours before it was set to begin. In the online period that followed the worldwide coronavirus lockdowns, Karl and his team claimed the ONE Esports Dota 2 SEA League and the BTS Pro Series Season 2: Southeast Asia titles and was constantly finishing in the top four of all other competitions.
With Geek Fam now closing the doors, Karl will replace Argle “Ken” Llesis, who is taking a competitive break due to health issues. “As much as we would love to have him play in future tournaments, his well-being is our utmost priority and we would like to make sure that he is in his best shape,“ stated Execration in the announcement made over their Facebook page regarding the roster adjustment.
Execration current roster:
- Jin “Palos” Lamatao
- Karl Jayme
- Ryan “Raging Potato” Jay Qui
- Don Carlo “BDz” Manalo
- Ralph Richard “RR” Peñano
