After Fnatic were able to easily make their way into the ESL One Birmingham 2020 Online: Southeast Asia grand finals, we swapped to the lower bracket where Team Adroit and Geek Fam fought for their tournament lives.

Both Adroit and Geek Fam had an amazing start to the ESL One Birmingham Online: SEA event as they initially dominated in the group stage round-robin – but unfortunately for both teams, two losses pushed them into the lower bracket. Having lost this same matchup in the group stage, Adroit would be hoping to get some revenge as the two teams fought for their tournament lives and a spot against BOOM Esports tomorrow.

Going into the series, it was GF who looked the better of the two teams as they took control of the first game right off the bat and never gave up their lead. Even though it was a relatively low-kill game, GF managed to easily take a 1-0 lead in the series, leaving Adroit to fight back – which they did. In a fairly up-and-down second game, Adroit were able to hold their composure and tie up the series, taking us to a decisive game three.

What would end up being Adroit’s final game at the event was essentially a stomp from Geek Fam, with Karl ‘Karl’ Jayme’s Ember Spirit being almost entirely unstoppable – ending with a 16-1-15 score line. For Adroit, they would be eliminated from ESL One Birmingham Online: SEA in fourth place, while Geek Fam would move on to face BOOM Esports tomorrow in the lower bracket final, where both teams will be fighting for a spot versus Fnatic in the grand final.
