Runners up in Katowice last week, Gambit Esports will have another chance to fight for an ESL One trophy in April when India will host its first big Dota 2 LAN tournament.

A couple of days ago Gambit withdrew from the regional qualifiers for ESL One Mumbai, but didn’t release any official statement for their decision. It looks like the organizers decided to reward their impressive run at ESL One Katowice with an invite to the next tournament. Na’Vi were also supposed to play in the qualifiers, but also withdrew on the same day with Gambit. However, Na’Vi cited a busy schedule and they are in fact playing these next few days in the WePlay Tug of War: Radiant online event. Along with Gambit, Na’Vi are in the eastern bracket semifinals there.

The regional qualifiers for ESL One Mumbai are scheduled to commence today, February 27 in five regions, including India. Four teams are fighting in each region in a double elimination bracket and only the winner of each regional will make it to the LAN portion of the event.

ESL One Mumbai LAN event will take place at the NSCI Dome April 19-21. A total of 12 teams will fight for a share of the $300,000 prize pool and the first ever Mumbai trophy. Seven teams will come to the event via a direct invite. So far, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Alliance and Gambit are the first to be confirmed.

The tournament is not a part of the Dota Pro Circuit and will have no impact on teams’ qualifier points for The International 2019.
