Gambit Esports rebuilt their Dota 2 team from scratch and introduced a fresh line-up mid-October, just about two weeks before the qualifiers for the $500,000 EPIC League were set to begin.

They placed top in their group and started the qualifier playoff from the upper bracket, but they got bested two times in a row, thus having to settle for a Division 2 slot.

Despite not doing too bad in the second division, Gambit have quietly dropped their carry player, Anton “yy/DyrachYO” Shkredov mid tournament. Over the past two series in the group stage they used Arslan “xannii” Shadjanov, who is currently benched in the HellRaisers roster.

Although the organization hasn’t issued any official updates about their line-up, the change seems to have been made after Gambit Esports lost their series against Live to Win 0-2 on the 24th of November. Following that series, Gambit continued their group stage matches with xannii, winning two match-ups and losing one.

With just two more series in the group play schedule for them, Gambit removed DyrachYO from their roster on the official Valve team registration page.

Gambit Esports are currently sitting on the third position in the Epic League Division 2 group stage and after today’s encounter with Yellow Submarine, they have only one series to play before entering the playoffs, with Cyberium on the 1st of December.

Gambit Esports current roster:

  • Arslan “xannii” Shadjanov (stand-in)
  • Artem “Lorenof“ Melnik
  • Andrey “meLes“ Romanov
  • Danial “xsvamp1re“ Alibaev
  • Albert “eine“ Garayev
