The 2019-2020 Dota Pro Circuit season has only just begun as we make our way through MDL Chengdu, but we have already confirmed that Leipzig will be the destination of the second Major of the season. Now we also have a confirmation of the third Major too.
After missing the entire previous DPC season, ESL One returns with a Major and they bring great news for the NA Dota fans who haven’t had a Major Championship hosted in their region since the Boston Major held in December 2016.
ESL One Los Angeles will take place between March 14th and 22nd 2020 with the qualifiers for the Minor before and the Major taking place from February 9th to 14th. By the time the event kicks off, it will be the first time in over two years that ESL will be involved in the DPC – with ESL One Katowice 2018 being the last time this occurred.
“Los Angeles is known for world-class entertainment and that is exactly what we aim to deliver with the L.A. Major,” said Ulrich Schulze, Senior Vice President of Product at ESL. “We are finally bringing our ESL Dota 2 flagship competition to the US West Coast for the first time and we are proud to deliver world-class Dota 2 action to the local community. With ESL One Los Angeles, we will put a stake in the ground to engage the US-based Dota 2 community and introduce one of our most iconic tournaments to a new location: the Shrine Auditorium conveying an absolute unique feel.”
While there is still a long few months until we reach the LAMajor, the return of ESL to the DPC as well as a NA tournament are definitely set to make this an amazing event.
