Raising the Dota 2 talent in smaller regions around the world is always a massive undertaking but the likes of ESL have always been on top of their game as they return with the Season 2 of the ESL National Championship for Dota 2.
Starting in July and running through to September 2019, the ESL National Championship will feature in Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia/Singapore – where the best teams from each region will compete over the three-month period for their share of a $36,000 prize pool ($12,000 per region). Come July, eight teams from each of the above mentioned regions will start on long journey through seven match weeks in hopes of finishing in the top 4 and reaching the playoff stage.
Before the regular season kicks off, teams will have a chance to make it into their regions bracket via open qualifiers, for which sign-ups are already open. From the open qualifiers, four teams will emerge for each region and they will have to battle the bottom four teams of the event’s previous iteration. The top 4 of these will proceed into the regular season where they will get a chance to compete to be the best in their respective regions.
While the event features seven match weeks, it does take a break over The International 2019 period and features a semi and grand final which are set for late in September 2019. All games for every region will be broadcast via ESL’s Facebook and YouTube (links posted below) – so you won’t ever miss your team in action.
You can find all the information for registration as well as open qualifiers on the official ESL website here.
