Gone are the days of Natus Vincere dominance in Dota 2, but Danil ‘Dendi’ Ishutin still has a huge passion for the game and is returning for the CIS regional qualifier for The International 2019.
The Pango have been around since late 2018 when they realized that Pangolier was a beast of a hero choice and rebranded themselves (ex-no Pangolier). The squad featured some of the absolute best and well-known talent from the CIS region including Andrey ‘Ghostik’ Kadyk, as well as some brand-new talent that looked set to shine. However, after not being able to really make their mark on the Dota 2 Pro Circuit at the Chongqing Major – even though they took down Virtus.pro in the regional qualifiers to get there, the squad disbanded and The Pango were no more… until now.
With TI9 regional qualifiers on the way, The Pango have returned with a new roster, featuring some of the most well-known players of Dota 2. This roster includes both Ghostik as well as a return to professional Dota 2 for Dendi, who we have all missed. Dendi was last seen playing for the Southeast Asian squad, Tigers, who could not make it in the DPC and fell apart back in March. The full squad of The Pango is:
- Vladimir ‘Chappie’ Kuzmenko
- Danil ‘Dendi’ Ishutin
- Andrey ‘Ghostik’ Kadyk
- Daniyal ‘yamich’ Lazebny
- Mikhail ‘Misha’ Agatov
With Open Qualifiers just around the corner, we’re sure to see The Pango put their best foot forward as they fight for one of three spots in the main CIS qualifier. If they do make it, they will have to still get passed the likes of Gambit Esports, Winstrike and Na’Vi. For what it is worth, it will be great to see Dendi playing Dota 2 once more and we can only hope that the TI-winning mastermind shows us his absolute best.
