ESL One Mumbai 2019 nears and the fourth team to receive an invite to the event has been decided as compLexity Gaming claim their spot at the event.
Last night we saw that Gambit Esports had picked up a direct invite to the upcoming Dota 2 event in Mumbai, India. Today the next team was confirmed as compLexity Gaming, also recently returned from their ESL One Katowice 2019 experience. coL showed great composure in Katowice, being the first team to take a win over the seemingly unstoppable Fnatic as well as a win over Ninjas in Pyjamas.
coL was originally in the North American qualifiers for ESL One Mumbai 2019, after moving through the open qualifiers alongside Jacky ‘EternalEnvy’ Mao’s Flying Penguins squad – but with the direct invite, the team have obviously withdrawn from the qualifier. This opened up a spot for Team Xolotl to jump into the qualifiers, which are already underway for the China and Southeast Asia regions with the rest beginning in just a few hours. There are five spots available through regional qualifiers; Europe/CIS, SEA, China, North America and India and seven spots from direct invites, four of which are now confirmed.
ESL One Mumbai 2019 comes to us from the NSCI Dome in India from April 19th-21st and will feature a $300,000 prize pool. While the event barely clashes with a Dota 2 Pro Circuit Minor, it may deter some teams from accepting invites – but with NiP, Alliance, Gambit and now coL already confirmed, it’s set to be an amazing showcase of Dota 2 action.
We’re sure to see more direct invites coming in the next few days, especially with the regional qualifiers ongoing currently.
