Ever since the first player reached the 11,000 Matchmaking Rating achievement earlier this year, many players have followed suit, pushing their solo rating to new heights – now, one more has been added to the list, Artour “Arteezy” Babaev.
While we have not seen a lot of Evil Geniuses playing in the last month, it is clear that the players are still enjoying and loving their Dota 2. Just last week, Andreas “Cr1t-“ Nielsen became the sixth player to break the 11K MMR milestone, joining a select few at the top of the ranks. With Abed Azel “Abed” L. Yusop being the first player to reach the massive milestone back in May of this year, it has now been confirmed that a third player from the EG family has also gained this achievement as Artour “Arteezy” Babaev peaks over 11K MMR.
Apart from his teammates mentioned above, Arteezy joins Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon, Danil “gpk” Skutin, Egor “epileptick1d” Grigorenko, Karl “Karl” Jayme and Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte becoming the eighth player overall to reach this peak. With Valve confirming the MMR reset will be an optional one for each individual player, it is likely that we will see many more players reaching this milestone. Arteezy was the second player to reach 9K MMR back in 2016 and the third overall to reach 10K back in 2017 – leaving a rather large gap in between due to the MMR resets, of course.
While having three players over 11K now, as well as the first player to ever reach 11K MMR, EG have not done amazingly at recent events – nor do they have any current upcoming events listed – meaning that we will have to wait a bit longer to see them in action together again. It is also unclear whether the team will continue to play in the European bracket or if they will return to North American Dota 2.
