Reality Rift is the newest competitor on the Southeast Asian scene. The team was announced on Reddit by its two founders, Ilya Vlasov and his business partner.

According to mister Vlasov, who took the time to answer a bunch of community questions on Reddit, the team is here to stay, although the timing for starting a new project might not be perfect. TI9 qualifiers are very close and this year each region has only one spot up for grabs. However, Ilya Vlasov ensured the community that the players have at least six months time to put the team on track.

“If nothing extraordinary happens the team will have at least 6 months of our support. We don’t believe that anything solid can be built in a shorter period. And yes, we put our commitments in contracts with players,” said one of the co-founders on Reddit, adding that “this TI qualifier will have zero impact on the team – we understand that big results are coming only after big efforts that in turn require time.”

Reality Rift roster from position 1 to 5:

  • Lukman «Luk 火» Nooraznan
  • Vincent “AlaCrity” Hiew Teck Yoong
  • Lee “kYxY” Kong Yang
  • GK
  • Wong “NutZ” Jeng Yih

Ilya Vlasov:

“We believe that there are many things in the esports industry that might be improved and we will do our best to make the industry better. We want to make things differently, be it support and guarantees from the organization, training process or transparency in community relationships.

We will try to bring all the best from traditional sports, management consulting (my background) and investment banking (background of Ilya) – such as corporate song, useless KPIs and thousands of pointless meetings.”

Reality Rift already has a Facebook page and the squad is preparing for its first official matches in the ESL MYSG Championship Season 2.
