As 2020 came to an end we saw a player, Egor “epileptick1d” Grigorenko, reach the 11,000 Match Making Rating milestone on a second account – now, another has matched that as Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon accomplished this.
In July of last year, 23savage became the second player ever to reach the prized 11K MMR mark – in just under two months of reaching 10k, the player was beaten by none other than Abed “Abed” Azel Yusop. Having managed that, the player has now finished second once again, once again on reaching the 11k MMR achievement but this time on his smurf account. Just five days ago, before 2020 came to an end, Egor “epileptick1d” Grigorenko confirmed via his Twitter account that he had reached that milestone on his smurf – thus becoming the first player to reach it twice on separate accounts.
However, this achievement is not to be overlooked, as Valve have spoken out against smurf accounts in the past – but it has been seen very often that the professional players have at least one each, with a new milestone now coming about for many. While there are a number of players who used the lack of Dota 2 Pro Circuit action in 2020 to reach this milestone, currently there are only two with smurfs at the same level.
It is also possible that 23savage will have a lot more time to build up his MMR as he is currently not registered for any team – and with the DPC Leagues now starting up, he will miss both the first Major and the first League season. It remains to be seen if any other players do end up reaching this achievement or if 23savage pushes forward to a new high achievement.
