The post TI roster shuffle is in full swing with many teams and players announcing their want for new players or their departure from a squad – including Maurice ‘Khezu’ Gutmann of Chaos Esports Club.
Chaos Esports Club were a team that only formed in their squad for The International 2019 just prior to the event’s regional qualifier – with the addition of Lasse ‘Matumbaman’ Urpalainen and the departure of Aliwi ‘w33’ Omar. While they would dominate the European regional qualifier, TI9’s group stages were nowhere near what they were looking for, even though they would take games off Team Secret and TNC Predator along the way. But with no absolute victories, Chaos became one of the first two teams eliminated from the event before the playoffs even kicked off. Now that TI has been over for a few days, Khezu has announced via his Twitter account that he is looking for a new team – confirming his departure from Chaos.
Khezu has bounced around teams for some time, ever since leaving Secret back in 2017, the offlaner has been unable to find stability – playing in both CIS and EU in that time. While it seems that he is the only one parting ways with the team, a comment and reply in the same thread hints at other members also leaving, as well as maybe a reformation of Chaos too.
For now, there is no other news revolving around the Chaos Esports Club – no new offlaner or any other team departures, but should anything become available, we’ll be sure to bring the news to you right away as the post-TI9 roster shuffle continues to shock and surprise us all.
