Newbee’s support Hu “Kaka” Liangzhi announced via Weibo that he departed from the team.

Along with  Damien “kpii” Chok, Kaka was the longest standing member of Newbee, playing with them for three The Internationals in a row, 2016, 2017 and 2018.

While the organization was quick to announce in the TI8 aftermath that they won’t fully disband the team despite the disastrous result in Vancouver, the two players took it on their social media accounts to announce their departure.

Without having a Twitter account, Kaka announced on Weibo that he will be playing with a different team in the next season.

“New place, new start. Looking back for the past few years, there is joy in winning the championships and there is dismay of suffering one-and-out. My pro career continues, and I hope not to lose my original motivation.”

Newbee current line-up:

 – Xu “Moogy” Han
 – Song “Sccc” Chun
 – Zeng “Faith” Hongda (C)

Kaka came to Newbee from EHOME in 2016 and while the TI6 was not exactly a tournament to remember for him, the next two years he was part of the more successful stories for the Chinese organization. Known today as one of the best Phoenix players, Kaka is reportedly going to go back to his roots and play in the next season for Keen Gaming, a team who started as a secondary squad of EHOME but later split parts with the organization.  However, the information is passed along in the Chinese scene just as a rumor and neither Kaka nor KG commented on this.
