EPICENTER 2019 was the last tournament on the 2018-2019 Dota Pro Circuit season and unfortunately for the Infamous roster attending the event, it was also the last tournament where they played under the banner of the Peruvian organization.
A few days before the tournament was over in Moscow, Russia, the players announced the full disbandment of the team, however, they didn’t really all go separate ways. The organization has indeed parted ways with the team, but with The International closed regional qualifiers invites, it was revealed that Infamous has actually signed Team Anvorgesa, the fourth-placed team at the last two Minors of the season.
Team Anvorgesa delivered the surprise when they finished second in their group at StarLadder ImbaTV Minor and proceeded to the tournament playoffs in the upper bracket. They were playing without an organization or any other sponsor behind them in Kiev, at the very last Minor of the season, but a month prior to that they were also in Croatia, at DotaPIT Minor, with a slightly different roster and under the Majestic Esports tag.
In an interview for VPEsports in Kyiv, Anvorgesa’s carry player Hector Antonio “K1” Rodriguez talked about the challenges presented to the up and coming teams in his region, and explained why they were playing without an organization at the Minor.
Despite not winning any of the Minors this season, the former Anvorgesa players will now have a brand to represent as Infamous decided to sign them. The roster is once again slightly changed, the team dropping Diego “Jericho” Rivera, potion 4 support in favour of Elvis “Scofield” De la Cruz.
Infamous roster from position 1 to 5:
- Hector Antonio “K1” Rodriguez
- Jean Pierre “Chris Brown” Gonzales
- Adrian “Wisper” Cespedes Dobles
- Elvis “Scofield” De la Cruz
- Steven “StingeR” Vargas
Regional closed qualifiers for The International 2019 will start on the 7th of July.
