Gambit Esports will play in the upcoming ESL One Birmingham 2020 – Online with two stand-in players and without their long standing captain, Artsiom “fng” Barshak.

fng will play the tournament alongside Alliance, as Gambit announced a two-month loan deal with the European organization. Besides missing their captain, Gambit have also benched their offlane player Maxim “Shachlo” Abramovskikh and will bring Evgeniy “Blizzy” Ree on a stand-in basis. Fng’s place will be taken by Vladimir “yol” Basov.

Gambit and Alliance are seeded in different groups in the tournament and will begin their journey for a spot into the playoffs stage Sunday, May 24, 2020. The group stage matches are set to unfold May 24-31, with the 16 attending teams split into two groups of eight. Bottom four teams from each group will get eliminated, while the top two from each group will secure an upper bracket start and the third and fourth will have to fight for their tournament lives via elimination rounds in the lower bracket.
