In less than a month, ESL One Hamburg 2019 will kick off, giving us a fantastic display of Dota 2 prowess by multiple world class teams. While three teams have received direct invites so far, more are making their way through the regional qualifiers currently, including Geek Fam.

Fir the past few days, teams from North America, Europe, China and Southeast Asia have been battling it out in the regional qualifiers for ESL One Hamburg 2019. While many smaller teams featured, it also was the first time we got to witness many new rosters with big players in action such as Carlo ‘Kuku’ Palad’s new squad of Geek Fam. After the squad was formed fully on September 18th, they took only a week for find their first victory – beating out the likes of BOOM Esports and Chan ‘WinteR’ Litt Binn’s Alpha x Hashtag. Geek Fam become the second SEA squad who will feature in Hamburg after TNC Predator, received a direct invite and it will be interesting to see what happens if these two squads face each other.

In the Chinese region it was another big name that made his way into ESL One Hamburg 2019, Hu ‘Kaka’ Liangzhi. After only joining the Invictus Gaming lineup earlier this month, Kaka and the squad made a lower bracket run through the qualifiers – taking down Royal Never Give Up, Team Aster and CDEC Gaming to secure their spot in Hamburg. iG become the second Chinese team to enter the tournament, joining Vici Gaming.

The European regional qualifiers also wrapped up just a short time ago and, once again, it was a big name in Dota 2 whose team managed to beat out the opposition to make it to Hamburg. Formed only ten days ago, features the likes of Pittner ‘b0ne7’ Armand and Vladimir ‘Chappie’ Kuzmenko. The squad would make their way, without loss, passed FlyToMoon, Winstrike Team and Wind and Rain to claim the EU qualifier slot for ESL One Hamburg 2019.

North America’s qualifier has yet to be concluded but by tomorrow morning there will be one more team confirmed for Hamburg. NA features Team Plus, J.Storm and Fighting Pepegas still battling for the position and with ESL One Hamburg 2019 quickly approaching, we look forward to seeing who else joins in at the epic event late in October.
